There’s something utterly magical about a late August wedding at Kew, when the gardens are at their lush, dreamy best and the golden light starts to soften into autumn.
This celebration was all about soft whimsy and romantic elegance – a beautiful Hindu ceremony followed by a relaxed evening of food and dancing. The couple chose the Nash Conservatory for their ceremony, where we dressed the mandap in layers of fresh greenery and delicate flowers in pale peach, blush pink, silvery lilac and soft apricot. To keep things natural and floaty, we blended seasonal blooms like dahlias, wild roses, astilbe, snapdragons and clematis with English foliage, eucalyptus and a few silk additions tucked in to help balance the structure. The result was light and ethereal, perfectly setting the tone for the ceremony.
Guests moved on to drinks and canapés at the stunning Princess of Wales Conservatory before the Orangery hosted the evening meal and reception. There, we played with height and movement across the tables – some dressed with clusters of soft floral arrangements around floating candles, others with tall glass trumpets overflowing with wild and airy textures. We added a long garland across the top table, loosely arranged to feel like it had grown there, winding between plates and glassware.
To finish, we added tiny wired clusters of flowers for the cake, all designed to echo the rest of the day – soft, romantic, and full of thoughtful detail.
This wedding brought together so many favourite ingredients: meaningful rituals, gentle styling, and the calm beauty of nature brought indoors. A joy from start to finish.
